On December 2, Capell & Howard was named “2016 Alabama Small Business of the Year” due to the law firm’s remarkable business success across the Southeast, high level of involvement in the River Region and committed participation in the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.
Presented by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) at their Partnership Annual Meeting, the Small Business Awards of Alabama recognizes the state’s top small businesses across three employee-number-based categories — the 51-100 employees category, 11-50 employees category and 1-10 employees category. The winners of these categories are considered to be Alabama’s very best small businesses based on a variety of civic and professional standards. An “Emerging Small Business of the Year” award is also presented to an Alabama small business in operation for less than 5 years.
Capell & Howard was awarded “Alabama Small Business of the Year” for the 51-100 employees category, while Good People Brewing Co. of Birmingham won the 11-50 employees category and King’s Olive Oil of Gadsden won the 1-10 employees category. Spicer’s Music of Auburn took home the “Emerging Small Business of the Year” award.
This year, 32 of the state’s small businesses were named as finalists and vied for an “Alabama Small Business of the Year” award.
