Capell & Howard places 2nd in Opelika Burger Wars, competition benefiting East Ala. Food Bank

On June 3, a Capell & Howard team of attorneys and staff members received second place in the third annual Opelika Burger Wars competition, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on North Railroad Avenue in Downtown Opelika, Ala.

Representing the firm were attorneys Shapard D. Ashley, Richard F. Calhoun Jr., R. Brooke Lawson III, Robert “Bob” T. Meadows III, R. Faith Perdue, and Lee “Russ” M. Russell Jr. and staff members Rachel Harris, Abby Luker and Daniel Morris.

The competition consisted of 19 grillers competing in three categories – professional, corporate and tailgater. Capell & Howard and other local businesses constituted the corporate category while local eateries constituted the professional category and individuals the tailgater category.

Burger Wars attendees were able to purchase tasting tickets to sample and vote for their favorite burger. All proceeds raised through the event will benefit the East Alabama Food Bank’s backpack meal program.
