Capell & Howard’s J. Lister Hubbard selected to defend City of Tuskegee in class action lawsuit

On Dec. 21, the Tuskegee City Council appointed Capell & Howard attorney and shareholder J. Lister Hubbard as special counsel to represent the City of Tuskegee in a class action lawsuit filed in 2013 against the City and the Utilities Board of Tuskegee (UBT). The Macon County Circuit Court suit involves franchise fees or taxes levied for utility services rendered in the area.

In the selection process, Council members reviewed possible counsel with their City Attorney and then interviewed two Montgomery law firms, including Capell & Howard.

Listed in The Best Lawyers in America and also designated a “Super Lawyer,” Lister concentrates his practice in the areas of construction law, public procurement law, environmental law, civil litigation, administrative law and governmental affairs.
