Capell & Howard attorney and shareholder Terrie Scott Morgan has been chosen to serve as a member of the Lawyers of Distinction, the fastest growing community of distinguished attorneys in the U.S. whose membership is limited only to the nation’s top 10 percent of lawyers.
Terrie was nominated and accepted to be a “Lawyer of Distinction” based on her impressive professional qualifications, her highly-regarded reputation and her extensive experience in the area of civil litigation. In determining whether to grant membership to an attorney, Lawyers of Distinction uses both objective and subjective factors, including peer reviews.
Terrie began her legal career in 2002 and has since become known throughout the River Region for her civil litigation practice, most of which involves family law, criminal defense, and labor and employment law.
In 2009, Terrie received the first-ever constructive discharge verdict in Alabama in the case of Tarver v. Southern Defense Systems, Inc. In 2012 and 2011, she was named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” an honor awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys, for her work in labor and employment law. In 2013, Terrie was admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, and in 2015, she received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award.
