Fourteen Capell & Howard P.C. attorneys have volunteered to work with the Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program (MVLP) throughout 2017 and provide pro bono civil legal aid to the River Region’s less fortunate.
A program of the Montgomery County Bar Foundation, the MVLP partners with charitable local law firms every year to provide low-income Montgomery residents with legal advice at no cost. Residents eligible for MVLP service may receive representation only on civil legal issues. No legal service is available for individuals facing criminal charges.
As volunteers, Capell & Howard’s attorneys will volunteer their time and legal knowledge at monthly clinics and help desks and accept client referrals for extended representation.
Throughout 2017, the firm’s attorneys will provide free legal assistance on cases involving bankruptcy; child support modification; collections; contracts and warranties; divorce; foreclosure; child guardianship; adult guardianship; homeownership; landlords and tenants; legitimations; power of attorney; probate; tax; and tort defense.
