On May 16, Capell & Howard welcomed accomplished summer law clerks Blake Piel and Gage Smythe to the Montgomery office.
Every summer, the firm invites promising law school students to clerk with the firm to provide the future attorneys with not only real-world experience but also mentoring to help them expand their legal knowledge and hone their legal skills.
Blake comes to Capell & Howard from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, where Blake has been consistently named to the school’s dean’s list and is ranked at the top of his class. At Jones, Blake serves as Managing Editor of the Law Review and as an Honor Court Justice. He also has received Best Paper awards for multiple class assignments focusing on various areas of law.
Gage joins the firm as a student in Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he also has continually made the school’s dean’s list and is ranked 16th in his graduating class of 149 students. At Cumberland, Gage has been recognized as a Scholar of Merit for civil procedure and been awarded Best Final Essay in contracts and Best Appellate Brief in lawyering and legal reasoning.
