On June 27, Capell & Howard welcomed summer law clerks Will Thompson and Kristen Vigilant to its Montgomery office.
Every summer, the firm invites exceptional law school students to clerk with the firm to provide the future attorneys with not only real-world experience but also mentoring to help them expand their legal knowledge and hone their legal skills.
Will comes to Capell & Howard from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he is ranked 25th in his graduating class of 134 students, serves as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, and sits on the Career Development Advisory Board and the Trial Advocacy Board. During his time at Cumberland, Will has been awarded the Vulcan Materials scholarship award for Outstanding Candidate’s Paper and received a Scholar of Merit for civil procedure. Will also has won the Parham H. Williams Freshman Trial Competition, in which he additionally won the Best Advocate award, and has been a finalist in the Judge James O. Haley Federal Trial Competition.
Kristen joins the firm as a student in The University of Alabama School of Law. At Alabama, Kristen is on a merit scholarship and, after only a year in law school, is very active in the legal community. Kristen serves as Vice President of Membership in the Dorbin Association, a student organization that promotes growth and professional development of women in the law, and she also serves as a member of the school’s Business Law Society.
Will and Kristen will clerk with the firm through Aug. 5.
