On Sept. 29, Capell & Howard received second place and won $1,000 for Baldwin Arts and Academics Magnet School in the 2016 Montgomery Education Foundation Brain Brawl Trivia Challenge. An annual event, the Brain Brawl is a charitable competition created to help raise funds for the Montgomery Education Foundation and Montgomery public schools.
Representing the firm were attorneys and shareholders Barbara J. Wells, David B. Hughes, J. Scott Pierce and W. Allen Sheehan. The attorneys competed against more than 40 teams and defeated all other participating Montgomery law firms.
Participants in the Brain Brawl were permitted to play on teams of no more than five people, and each team was given the opportunity to win up to $1,500 for a selected Montgomery public school. Capell & Howard participated in the Foundation’s school draft program and had its school, Baldwin Arts and Academics, randomly chosen.
In the end, selected Montgomery public schools were awarded with $3,250 in event proceeds.
