The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of the City of Montgomery has entered into an agreement to provide at least 100,000 tons of municipal solid waste for 25 or more years for use by a materials recovery (recycling) facility being developed and constructed by an affiliate of Infinitus Energy, LLC at a cost to Infinitus of approximately $35 million. In addition to providing environmental benefits to, and some potential revenue for, the City, the project is expected to reduce substantially the City’s future landfill maintenance and solid waste disposal costs. Construction of the facility is scheduled to be complete and the facility operational by early summer 2014. The firm has represented the City and the Solid Waste Disposal Authority in connection with the negotiation and implementation of the project.
